Description:  Under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer, this position will properly document attendance, progress, or other required elements as determined by the Commonwealth of Virginia, ODEMSA, American Heart Association, International Trauma Life Support, and other governing bodies as appropriate. The position will have an active role in quality management teams within the Authority, will serve as a resource for educational methodologies for the organization and the community, assist with protocol development and associated education, assist with maintaining statistical data and summarizing quality improvement processes in addition to promoting adherence to research parameters by clinical staff. Experience in education/teaching, at least two years of primary paramedic education and previous quality improvement background is preferred. Ideal candidate must be a Nationally Registered Paramedic/ Certified Virginia Paramedic, ALS or BLS Coordinator or the ability to gain the certification within six months. A Member of NAEMSE or the ability to gain the certification within six months also required.

Position: Full-time teaching position. Rank and salary are dependent upon academic qualifications and experience.
Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field and 2 years related occupational experience. Bachelor’s degree and prior teaching experience preferred. VA Emergency Medical Technician Instructor, ITLS Instructor, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor, and BLS Instructor certifications preferred.
Duties: Teach 15 credit hours in EMS classes (day, evening, and / or weekends) and maintain 10 hours of office time each week.  Perform other duties such as committee assignments and student advising.
The College: Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Central Virginia Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education.  Approximately 4,000 students are enrolled in occupation/technical programs and university-parallel transfer programs.  The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate degree.
