The items below are examples of Multiple Response Technology Enhanced Items that you may see on upcoming exams starting this fall. Prior to this enhancement, all items on the examinations were Multiple Choice items. Multiple Choice items require the selection of only one answer option. Multiple Response items contain more than one correct answer option and you are instructed to select the answer options that are correct.

Here are some examples:
Which of the following are colors? Select the two answer options that are correct.
Only options A and D are colors, so selecting both options would be correct.
Which of the following images are traffic signs? Select the three answer options that are correct.
Only options A, B and D show images of traffic signs, so selecting all three of these options would be correct.
Which of the following signs or symptoms are associated with asthma? Select the three answer options that are correct.
- Shortness of breath
- Slurred speech
Options A, C and D are signs or symptoms that could be experienced by an individual during an exacerbation of asthma. Options B, E and F are not signs or symptoms of an asthma exacerbation.
