COLUMBUS, OH — The Board of Directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (National Registry) is seeking qualified applicants for two open volunteer positions on its Board of Directors: EMT-At-Large and Physician-At-Large.
Each position carries a four-year term and plays a critical role in supporting the National Registry’s mission to ensure a competent and prepared EMS workforce.
EMT-At-Large
Candidates for the EMT-At-Large position are expected to have demonstrable experience in EMS leadership and education in the provision of emergency care. Previous involvement in National Registry initiatives is preferred. Applicants must be current Nationally Registered EMTs or Paramedics.

Physician-At-Large
Candidates for the Physician-At-Large position are expected to have demonstrable experience in EMS leadership and education in the provision of emergency care. Previous involvement in National Registry initiatives is preferred. The Physician-At-Large Director represents the National Registry from the perspective of EMS physicians and brings a physician-level clinical and systems-based viewpoint to Board deliberations.

Board Service Expectations
Both positions are open due to expiring terms. If selected, Board members must attend two in-person Board of Directors meetings each year in Columbus, Ohio. Board members may also be asked to serve on committees, which may require additional in-person or virtual meetings or conference calls.
Application Process
Interested applicants should complete the Board application and submit a current CV and cover letter. Applications will be accepted until the posting is closed and may close at any time once an adequate pool of qualified candidates has been identified. Candidates selected for interviews will be notified by April 15. A vote of the Board of Directors will follow, with successful candidates notified by July 1, 2026.
These are volunteer, unpaid positions. All travel and related expenses incurred in connection with National Registry Board activities will be reimbursed.
