National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Receives EMS Partnership of the Year Award from American Ambulance Association

COLUMBUS, OHIO — The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (National Registry) has been named the recipient of the EMS Partnership of the Year Award by the American Ambulance Association (AAA). The award was presented during the President’s Reception at the AAA Annual Conference & Trade Show, held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on April 21, 2026.

This national recognition highlights the National Registry’s strong collaboration with AAA and a shared commitment to advancing the EMS profession through partnership, innovation, and a focus on high-quality patient care. The National Registry was recognized for its leadership in supporting EMS through standardized certification and for convening the EMS Association Summit (EAS), which strengthens coordination among state and national stakeholders.

Scott Gilmore, MD, FACEP, FAEMS, National Registry Board Chair, accepted the award on behalf of the organization from Jamie Pafford-Gresham, President of the American Ambulance Association.

“This recognition reflects the strength of collaboration across the EMS community,” said Dr. Gilmore. “Our partnership with the American Ambulance Association demonstrates what is possible when organizations come together with a shared focus on supporting Clinicians, advancing the profession, and ultimately improving patient care.”

The AAA Annual Conference & Trade Show brings together leaders from across the mobile healthcare industry to share insights, address challenges, and celebrate excellence in EMS. The EMS Partnership of the Year Award recognizes organizations that demonstrate exceptional collaboration and measurable impact on the advancement of emergency medical services nationwide.

The National Registry remains committed to working alongside partners like the AAA to strengthen the EMS profession, support Clinicians at every stage of their careers, and ensure the continued delivery of safe, effective care to communities across the country.

About the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians

Guided by our mission to support the EMS profession through partnerships, research, and lifelong assessment of clinical competence, the National Registry was established in 1970 as a non-profit organization and serves as the nation’s emergency medical services certification organization. It is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the accreditation body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. The National Registry maintains NCCA accreditation for each of the four certification programs: Emergency Medical Responder (NREMR), Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (NRAEMT), and Paramedic (NRP). Credentialing protects the public, assures consumers that Clinicians have met standards of practice, advances the EMS profession, and establishes standards of professional knowledge, skills, and practice. Additional information is available at NREMT.org and LinkedInFacebookInstagramYouTubeRedditTikTok, and X
